I moved to San Diego to go to college in 2002 and fell in love with yoga. I practiced at a small studio in Ocean Beach with a highly skilled Brazilian teacher in a heated studio. I loved working towards poses and cleansing my body in the heat; I was hooked! During a stressful time in my life with so many changes yoga provided me with clarity and comfort in my body, mind, and soul. For one hour I was able to stop moving so fast and focus inward, something that is challenging for me to do.
Fast forward to 2019...I now had two spirited young daughters, a husband, and a home in a small town in the Bay Area, CA. but something was missing. I had left my job of teaching kids on the Autism spectrum to raise a family but was not feeling fulfilled. I missed moving my new mama body and the community that yoga provided in a safe space. I joined the local Core Power studio and instantly was brought back to that same feeling in college; heated rooms, soulful asanas, and a supportive community. I completed the 200 hour teacher training course held by Core Power, plus an additional 50 hour training that was held for students who wanted to teach at Core Power.
We moved to Kona in November 2020 and immediately felt accepted by the people and the island. I was so grateful to be able to watch my kids play at the beach and practice yoga again safely outside. In my classes you can expect a Vinyasa style that will strengthen, balance and detoxify your body and mind as we move through postures connected to breath. I will always offer modifications and all yoga levels are welcome.
