I have always considered myself an athlete, with a passion for weight training and explosive, powerful movements in my younger years. I have also been an avid runner for over 15+ years but my joints (knees and hips) have paid the price. I found yoga about a decade ago but really dedicated to my practice 5 years ago and my body has reaped the benefits of fluid, organic, gentle movements. I love to share this revelation with people! I recently completed my 200 RYT through the Yoga Impact Institute (Nancy Candea) taught by Alyssa Kratz, where I discovered a passion to help heal people, mentally and physically, through the practice of yoga. My biggest love and passion in life is the ocean (and particularly freediving in it). Practicing yoga by the ocean beautifully blends my two passions together and the sound of the waves is the perfect tool to help practitioners get grounded.
In my practice I like to focus on building a strong foundation and core while gently encouraging flexibility, especially for stiff/immobile legs, lower back, and shoulders (common problem areas for runners, surfers, and folks who sit in an office all day). I also like to incorporate breathing techniques borrowed from my freedive training. Join me for an invigorating, rejuvenating flow! I will challenge your core and main-mover-muscles in a fun and accessible way.
